Au revoir! Come around again!

cya round coolkid, you're a smart dude. keep it up

I wish people would throw their shade more targeted when they leave. All of that sounded really generic. For all we know you could be angry about Rule 34 art of your favorite character from 'My little Pony: Friendship is Magic'.

For anyone else reading this: If you see something inappropriate, just flag the piece and be done with it. If it didn't get removed it wasn't as severe as you thought or just needed to be rated "A for Adult". Newgrounds, like other communities, has rules and regulations and will not host anything illegal. But we are also a very tolerant community that accepts homosexuality, transsexuality and a lot of other stuff that would have gotten you stoned in the Bronze Age...
If you are unsure about what is okay and what 'isn't' you can look up the most up-to-date rules here:
https://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/help-information/content-submission

On top of that: If you see users act inappropriately you can use the little [Flag]-button (if there is one). If there isn't, send a PM to Tom Fulp*, the creator of Newgrounds.

You can also block** such users. While blocking them will solve the problem 'for you', reporting them to the Newgrounds moderation team will also protect others.

i checked in to see if anyone needed clarifications and now i see i wasnt as clear as i should've been. Hi, Yatsufusa! i am in no way against gay people or trans people, love is love. I am leaving because of the abundance of sexual content, i am not against it but i do not want to be around it as i said it has been affecting me, as in i am growing an addiction and it isnt healthy and im taking action. as for the bad behavior ive seen, thats just a bonus really. although a cant remember any names, ive seen a couple drawings of animals in sexual scenarios and a small amount of child characters as well. the fact that some feel safe posting such content on this site puts a very bitter taste in my mouth and it has warped my perception of this site, i do not know if these posts have been deleted or not but i hope so. one instance of this has been a drawing of the two characters from avatar: the last airbender. i do like this show but thats not why i found the art disturbing and wrong, the two characters, toph(?) and katara are the subject of the art. these characters are underage, i dont really care that they're fictional, they are shown as children and thats not right! alright, i hope that is enough for clarifying! goodbye(again).

i thought the degen stuff was "normal" here since its half the stuff that gets posted lol, but yeah if it affects you good decision, take care you seem like a cool dude

thanks i appreciate it! your art is amazing, stay cool

dang, you're a cool one. see ya if you decide to come back :) take care

@DRsidequest First up: Thank you for taking the time to clarify! Since you're actually an artist, it's a big relief for me that it's something so justified.
Given the context you just added that wasn't probably as easy. I have no first-hand experience with addiction but one thing I constantly hear when talking to ex-smokers is how easy it is to fall back into that deadly habit with just a single cigarette. So I can see how you'd walk away from NG entirely - rather than just filter out "A"-rated material.

As for the underage looking characters in sexual scenarios: I see (and report) those as well. As you said: It's not exactly a lot, but if you innocently browse around the unscouted parts of the Art Portal, you're going to find some even if you don't want to. I must admit that I do not follow up on most of those cases either, but I remember two cases:

I reported the artist via PM to a moderator because their drawing stile was so... "unpracticed", shall we say... That I couldn't in good conscience tell if a character was underage or not. I came across that PM again when cleaning out old PMs and checked the link out of curiosity. The account was still there, but the _entire_ Art Portal content was gone (from a former 50 or something.) I didn't want to ask, but I guess that's what happens if you take the piss with the moderation team.

In another case I remember, I was (as I often are) 'unsure' if I should report a chubby character with "basically dwarfism" and checked the Review section to get a metric of how many of our "beloved users" confused reviews with reports in this case and read a review by somebody explaining how they know this particular model and even a site that is known for bringing down the hammer hard in those cases was okay with said model.

Honestly: I do not think there is a "perfect metric" when it comes to fictional characters (especially furry) qualifying as adults in small bodies (akin to people with dwarfism) or not. There is bound to be a debate, just like there is debate when "somebody" loses his shit over a correctly rated "M"-rated movie getting into the Top 5 daily submissions...

I 100% agree with you on the "the fact that some feel safe posting such content on this site puts a very bitter taste in my mouth"-bit, but on a far larger scale that you probably meant it: 'Some people' come here and are massive idiots, posting Let's Plays to the Movie Portal, Suno AI to the Audio Portal, Stolen art from several different artists _WITH_WATERMARKS_ to the Art Portal, real life amateur porn, post dick picks (only happened once on my watch), or unapologetically 'complain' in a news post that they got banned from the forums because they throw around homophobic slurs like there is no tomorrow...
Which brings me to one of my all-time favorite quotes:

"Hell is other people."
– Garcin, No Exit (Huis Clos) (by Jean-Paul Sartre)

If you are on the internet, you will _inevitably_ meet people that make you question how somebody that stupid gets by in day-to-day life. And I think that a big share of the cases you encountered would probably be among them. We can report them, but we cannot inject them with extra neurons...

But there are also the kind and awesome people who essentially keep the site alive and running though their contributions. Be it submissions, guiding others, silly chatter, flagging stuff that 'doesn't belong', moderation, or donating money to a site they absolutely love.
(I get that you didn't say all of NG was shit. I mainly feel the need to say it after everything 'I' just said...)

I genuinely hope your next community will be an awesome, safe space for you. (And when you settled in there, please consider adding a link there to the side-bar of your Newgrounds-profile. There are people here who love your stuff. ;) )
